More than 100 dachshunds in Washington Square Park. Is that the sound of your cold heart opening?
A bunch of Pearl’s friends donated a memorial tree in honor of her dog Cola, and we get to attend a bittersweet planting.
We venture into the woods with Pearl and her cousin and hear the crisp sounds of a cold New England night and the curiosity and wonder of a kid in nature.
Pearl and her dog Kikuchio (her regular companion in Good Things) visit a mall santa in Queens and learn that kids and dogs aren’t all that different.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with those first independent steps between home and school.
The one that started it all, an exciting and joyful summer walk with a dog from an NYC shelter.
We join Pearl in a closed bar at 10AM, to join feisty NYC seniors taking a twirl around the dancefloor.
A 200-year-old church welcomes Kikuchio, a parrot named Ichabod, and several other non-denominational animals for an NYC tradition.
We’re out in the snow with Pearl and Kikuchio to experience a New York secret: the tropical climate and urban camaraderie of those who’ve made it to the bodega on a snow day.
